Biogas

Compression of sour gas from atmospheric pressures to moderate upgrading pressure or high-pressure injection pressure.

Locally produced biogas at the biomass source may be used on-site for the generation of heat and/or power or it can be upgraded to natural gas quality after which it is injected into a gas pipeline. Biogas upgrading including removal of water and CO2 is done at slightly elevated pressures, whereas the pressure required for pipeline injection depends on the type of grid that is available. When the biogas product is burned off directly in for instance a gas turbine, the pressure needs to be lifted to the appropriate fuel injection pressure of the gas turbine. CSH offers screw compressors for lower pressure applications and various brands of reciprocating compressors for the high-pressure applications.
